In 1917 Mr. Elias Fares Aczam established in Damascus his  own company under the trading name:  "ELIAS F.ACZAM &SONS CO." At this stage he was working in general trade as brokers,  as well as agent of foreign companies on commission basis,  his main trading line was concentrating varieties of food  stuff and metals, of course the scope of his business activities  started from day to day to grow constantly, in way that he  planned to enlarge the volume of his business outside of Syria  and this was especially between 1945-1955. Then After the sons of Mr. Elias F. Aczam were entered to  take part in his company, by collaborating in the field of  enlarging the volume of his business activities, in 1958 the  said company opened a new branch trading office in Beirut/Lebanon, who was and still handling a general of large varieties of foodstuff. At the end of 1980 the grandsons of Mr. Aczam ( Elia.G. and Naji.G. Aczam) joined actively the said company in a way  that amended the general trading line of this company, by  enlarging the volume of amended his import/export turnover  in another terms, the said company becomes at this stage one  of the biggest importers/ exporters of all foodstuff in Syria. Needless to say further in this connection that during his long  trading activities, the said company have owned a very good  reputation based on his very lasting and behavior with  a straight forward trading policy.
